The Goochland County Historical Society History Center will be closed November 23-25 so that our staff and volunteers can be with family for the Thanksgiving holidays. We will reopen on November 30 at 10:00 am for our regular hours. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.

This year’s Fall Festival will be held October 29, 2022, 12:00 pm—5:00 pm. Join us at 1800 Sandy Hook Rd, Goochland 23063 for an afternoon of fall fun. We will be set up ready to greet you. Stop by our table and ask a question about Goochland history or join the Society!
Join us on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Providence Presbyterian Church, located at 3388 Three Chopt Road to help celebrate its 275th anniversary. The event will take place from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and will feature a bluegrass band, games for kids, Brunswick stew and Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson reenactors from noon - 2:00 pm.
Join us this Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Grace Church Parish House for Bustles, Bloomers & Big Sleeves: Fashion in the Gilded Age featuring museum consultant Colleen Callahan and living history interpreter Nancy Lowden. Together they will show us what it meant to “get dressed” in that era. The program, part of the Society’s exhibit Saved from the Ashes: Thorncliff in the Gilded Age, also details how historical garments are conserved. Program co-sponsored by the Southeastern Region, Costume Society of America. An English tea will follow the program.
