Come learn about the James River and Kanawha Canal—the area’s most important transportation improvement in the early 19th century, moving people and products, while promoting the economy of those counties, cities and towns along the James River. The history walk which starts at 1:00 p.m., will offer an overview of the canal’s years of operation, pathway through the county, and its impact on Goochland and the surrounding area.

Please meet at 555 Lee Road (Route 628, off of Route 6), in Crozier. We will meet on the front lawn; parking is along Lee Road. Note: The location is at the very end of Lee Road.

Rain date is Saturday, November 10, at the same time (1:00 p.m.) and location.
